Itinerary:
This is an excellent, first-hand opportunity for us to show you buoyant Accra Ghana’ capital and main gateway to the West African sub-region. Starting from our Teshie-Nungua base, we will first visit the premises of the casket makers who have achieved world-wide acclaim for designing some of the most fantastic examples imaginable.
We will then straight for downtown Accra, visiting the Independence Square, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial and finally the Art Centre, where you can try a hand at bargaining for souvenirs. After a uniquely Ghanaian lunch at the Country Kitchen, we will visit the National Museum, drive to the home and tomb of Dr. Du Bois, the foremost African-American intellectual of the last century. To round off our impressions, our last station will take us the Makola Market before returning to base in time for a rewarding dinner.

Our journey today will take us from busy Accra into serene nature just waiting outside the metropolis. After an early evening meal, we will depart for downtown Accra, but without a fist call at the Next Door Resort in Teshie for a drink before plunging into nightlife. Our final destination this evening is the popular Boomerang dancing hall in Circle, where we will spend the rest of the evening chilling out and catching the Accra spirit. We will stay till after midnight before heading back towards base.

Our journey today will take us busy Accra into serene nature just waiting outside the metropolis. We will first head towards the Volta Dam Site at Akosombo and drop at Doryumu to visit the Shai Hill National Park. Here, we will trek through thrilling landscapes to see prehistoric caves, baboons etc. After that we will drive up the Akwapim Ridge Mountains to the Botanical Gardens in Aburi where we will have lunch before taking a guided tour through the sprawling park with its imposing tropical trees and plants. Return to Accra in the late afternoon.

Itinerary:

This tour is designed to give a good ideal about how chocolate is produced. We will trace the footsteps of the finished product to its very roots by first driving to the Golden Tree Factory in near by Tema to see how Ghana’s cocoa is manufactured into chocolate. Then we will drive to the cocoa Research Institute in Tafo, have lunch and visit the institute’s cocoa plantation and research facilities. The experts there will show us everything and tell us all we want to know about Ghana’s most important crop. On the return journey to Accra in the late afternoon, we take the beautiful route through the Akwapim Ridge.

Dam site Tour (GHA-EX07)

Itinerary:

This relatively short trip will take us through East Ghana to one of Africa’s greatest hydroelectric projects at Akosombo. But we will first stop at Atimpoku, where we will walk across the big suspension bridge spanning the Volta River, before finally driving to the dam site at Akosombo. There too, we will take a guided walk over the dam, visit the hydro-electric installations and have lunch at the magnificent Volta Hotel. We will then crown the day with a sunset cruise on the world’s largest man-made lake and interact with the fisherman of Kpong, who earn their living by landing tons of tilapia every month. Later return to Accra.

This is another unique chance to take a ride on the largest man-made lake in the world. We will first drive early to the port of Akosombo. There, we will board a ship that will take us on two hours ride to the Dodi, an uninhabited island in the Volta Lake. The trip there will give us a chance to view Ghana from a whole different angle. Lunch will be served on board; there will also be live music. Late evening return to Accra.

Come with us today on a trip to the beautiful Volta estuary at Ada-Foah, where Ghana’s largest river enters the sea. Here, we will explore the islands of the estuary by boat, spending the rest of the day swimming and relaxing on the banks of the Volta. Birdwatchers and anglers will also have a field day if they do not forget to bring along their angling gear and binoculars in order to benefit from the fantastic possibilities here. Return to Accra in the evening.

Itinerary

After an early evening meal we will depart to downtown Accra, to the television station TV3. We will drive through Osu to Accra, for you to feel the evening ! We take a short stop in Osu, take a drink, and continue to the TV3 station. We will be seated at 6:00pm for the program to start. You will have the feeling of African Music, performed live by the artists on stage. It will be broadcasted live on television. After the show we will return to our hotel.

Our journey today will take us from busy Accra to the Eastern region. We will first drive to Kpong a fishing community where they fish on the largest man – made lake in the world and interact with you while cruising on the lake. After the cruise we will bring a visit to the Agomanya market to interact with the bead sellers. After lunch we will drive to the bead factory where you will have access to knowlage of how they make the beads and if possible learn how to do it. We will crown the day with African drumming and dancing before we return to Accra.
